ACV Mechanisches Temperaturmessgerät 54442027

The ACV Mechanical Temperature-sensing Device 54442027 is a thermostat designed for use in heating systems. It is compatible with ACV HeatMaster 45 and HeatMaster 60 models. This device operates mechanically, making or breaking an electrical circuit when the sensed temperature reaches a preset point. It can be used for safety limit functions, such as interrupting burner operation on over-temperature or preventing circulation below a certain return temperature. The reset type can be automatic or manual.

When selecting a replacement thermostat of this kind, key parameters include the switching point (temperature at which contacts change state), reset type (automatic or manual), and mechanical configuration (immersion probe, clamp-on, or capillary bulb). The electrical ratings must match the controlled circuit, and the probe form must suit the installation point (e.g., a pocket or pipe strap). Ensure the probe is correctly positioned and free from debris or scale that could insulate it from the measured medium.

Typical failures include a drifting switching point causing incorrect burner cycling, a broken capillary tube in bulb-type thermostats, or poor thermal contact between a clamp-on probe and the pipe surface. These issues may lead to the burner not operating, cycling too frequently, or the system not maintaining proper temperature. Check wiring and contact condition before reassembly.
