Cables carry ignition pulses, sensor signals and control voltages between the electrical components of a burner or boiler. Depending on their function they connect the ignition transformer to the electrode, link flame detectors and photocells to the control box, or route low-voltage signals between the burner head and the boiler controller. Their insulation and screening are rated for the heat and interference levels found inside the appliance.

Selecting the right cable requires matching the connector type and pin layout at each end, the cable length, the conductor cross-section, and the voltage or signal class the cable is designed for. Temperature rating and degree of shielding also matter in confined, high-heat locations. Makers such as Danfoss, EBM Papst, Fida, Honeywell, Kromschroder, Ma-Ter and Riello each use proprietary connectors, so check the original order number or the model designation of the burner unit. A cross-reference from another manufacturer's part number can be used to locate the matching cable in this section.
