Fans are the air-moving component at the heart of every forced-draught burner and fan-assisted boiler. Mounted directly on the burner head or within the appliance casing, they draw in combustion air and deliver it at the correct pressure and volume to the mixing chamber or heat exchanger. The three types found here — axial, centrifugal and tangential — each suit a different application: axial fans move large volumes at low pressure, centrifugal fans build higher static pressure for compact burner assemblies, and tangential fans provide the even airflow distribution required in warm-air and fan-coil units.

Selecting the correct replacement requires matching several parameters: wheel diameter, shaft diameter and direction of rotation, supply voltage and frequency, airflow rate in m³/h, and static pressure in Pa. Motor power, capacitor rating and flange dimensions must also correspond to the original. Connection terminals, lead configuration and the presence of a thermal cutout are further points to check. EBM PAPST parts are identified by their own order number, and a cross-reference to another manufacturer's number can be used to locate the equivalent part in this section.
