Ionisation sensors sit in the flame itself, UV sensors look at it through a sight glass in the burner head or front plate, and flame rods and electrodes do the same job where the combustion chamber calls for them.
Choosing the right one comes down to the flame detection principle, the thread and length of the probe, the mounting angle, the supply voltage and the connection to the control. An order number from another maker can be matched to ours against the burner or boiler model.
