Description
Brahma SM11 burner control box (SKU 24019875) is a compact automatic control unit for atmospheric gas burners without a fan. It manages the full burner cycle from pre-purge and ignition to continuous monitoring and safe shutdown. Flame monitoring is performed via an ionization electrode, with separate electrodes for ignition and detection. The device includes a varistor for voltage surge protection and a manual reset button. It responds to flame loss in less than 1 second and is rated for over 250,000 operating cycles.
Choosing and fitting
Replacement control boxes of this type are selected by matching the exact series and type designation, supply voltage, safety and pre-purge times, and flame detection method. The wiring base or plug pattern must also match the existing installation. Verify the voltage and safety times on the existing control before ordering. Controls from different series are not interchangeable even within the same brand.
Signs of failure
When a control box of this kind fails, the burner may fail to start, lock out without ignition, or shut down unexpectedly during operation. Common failure modes include internal component degradation, relay failure, or loss of flame signal detection. Check for a lockout condition, verify the flame sensor and wiring, and test the control box with a known-good unit if available.
