Description
Kromschroder Manual valve AKT20R50B, SKU 03152273, is a manual shut-off device for all types of gas according to DVGW G 260/I and air. It has dimensions of 80x40x69 mm. This valve is used to manually isolate the gas supply to a burner or boiler, typically installed upstream of automatic safety valves for maintenance or emergency shut-off.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement manual valve of this type, ensure the connection size (typically threaded Rp 1/2" to 2" or flanged) matches the gas line, and the valve is rated for the system's gas pressure and temperature. Check the valve orientation and operating torque to ensure compatibility with existing pipework.
Signs of failure
Common failure modes for manual gas valves include leaking through the seat due to wear or debris, seized spindle from lack of use or corrosion, and damaged seals. Symptoms may include gas odor, difficulty operating the valve, or inability to fully shut off gas flow. Inspect the valve for leaks and ensure it closes fully.
