Cofi Ignition transformer TRE820PISO3

The Cofi TRE820PISO3 is a winding-type ignition transformer for gas and oil burners. It steps up a 230 V, 50–60 Hz supply to a secondary voltage of 8 kV at 20 mA, with a power consumption of 220 W. The transformer has a grounded-pole single output and operates intermittently, energised only during the ignition phase. It supports both ignition and flame detection, so a single electrode can perform both functions. The silicone-insulated ignition cable may be up to 5 m long; the transformer is rated IP20 and operates in ambient temperatures from -20 to 60 °C.

Ignition transformers of this kind are selected by secondary voltage and current, primary voltage, duty cycle, mounting and terminal type, and the ignition cable connector pattern. The mounting position is typically arbitrary, but the unit must be suited to the available space and electrical ratings. The ignition cable must be silicone-insulated for high voltage and heat resistance; it should be inspected and replaced if hardened or cracked.
