Ionization and ignition electrodes are the two electrically active components mounted at the burner head. The ignition electrode generates the high-voltage spark that lights the fuel-air mixture at start-up; the ionization electrode sits in the flame path and passes the small current that proves flame presence to the control board. Both are precision parts: tip geometry, electrode gap, and positioning relative to the nozzle are set by the burner manufacturer and must be replicated exactly on replacement.

Choosing the right electrode means matching the shank length, tip angle, thread type or bracket fixing, and insulator material to the original specification. Connection type — spade, plug, or bare wire — and cable entry direction also matter in confined burner heads. Where you have an OEM order number from Riello, Giersch, Kromschroder, Brahma, or any other brand in this section, use it to cross-reference directly to the compatible part.
