Description
The ACV Electrode unbent 537D3025 is an ignition and ionization electrode used in gas burners and boiler systems. It is designed for ACV Compact 12, Compact 15, Compact 24, Compact 28, and E Tech S 21 boilers. This unbent electrode is resistant to soot, ensuring consistent performance in flame zone applications. It serves to deliver the spark for ignition or to prove flame presence via ionization current.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement electrode of this kind, critical parameters include length, bend (unbent in this case), ceramic insulator diameter, spark gap, and mounting flange configuration. These dimensions must match the burner's flame tube and pilot burner position. Always confirm the correct shape and mounting before installation to ensure proper spark positioning.
Signs of failure
Typical failure modes include erosion of the metal tip from repeated sparking, cracking of ceramic insulation due to thermal shock, soot coating that shorts the spark, and gradual gap drift that lengthens ignition time. These issues can cause delayed ignition or lockout. Check the electrode for visible damage, soot buildup, and correct gap spacing.
