Description
This pressure switch, manufactured by Brahma under SKU 75017082, monitors pressure or airflow in a burner system. When the sensed pressure is within the set band, the switch closes a circuit and allows the burner control to proceed with the ignition sequence. If the pressure falls outside that band, the switch opens and the control locks out to stop the burner.
Choosing and fitting
Pressure switches of this type are selected by the medium (air or gas), the required switching range and differential, the connection type (thread or hose spigot), the electrical contact rating, and the approval class. Before replacing, compare these parameters with the original unit. Verify that the impulse line is clean and correctly routed, and that the wiring between the burner control and the fan or gas train is correct.
Signs of failure
Common failure modes for pressure switches include a torn diaphragm, a blocked impulse tube, or a drifted setpoint. These faults can cause burner lockouts that are often mistaken for ignition failures. Check the diaphragm, impulse tube, and setpoint when such lockouts occur.
