Description
This valve coil is an electromagnetic component used for precise control of gas burner valves. When energised by the burner control, it lifts the valve plunger to open the gas passage. The coil features vibration resistance, high heat resistance, and durable insulation. It is designed to be field-replaceable without replacing the entire gas valve assembly.
Choosing and fitting
Parts of this type are selected by operating voltage and physical fit to the valve stem and housing. Confirm that the electrical rating matches the burner control output, commonly 230 V AC or 24 V AC/DC, and that the mounting hole pattern, plunger stroke, and connection type correspond to the existing valve body. The replacement coil must be from the same brand and series to guarantee correct fit and magnetic force.
Signs of failure
Coil failure typically presents as a burner that does not open the gas valve, indicated by no solenoid click and no gas flow, or as an intermittent lockout from weak magnetic pull. Before condemning the valve body, check the coil winding resistance with a multimeter against the manufacturer's specification; an open or shorted coil must be replaced.
