Description
The Siemens SQM10.16502 actuator translates a control signal into rotational movement, positioning air dampers or mixing valves in boiler and burner systems. It carries type designations 31071 and 2480004. Control signal compatibility includes three-point, 0-10 V, and on/off signals. In a burner setup, the actuator works with the fan to regulate combustion air flow, responding to the burner control during modulation.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement actuator of this type, match the required torque, running time for a full stroke, control signal type, shaft or coupling pattern, angle of rotation, and the presence of integral auxiliary switches to the damper or valve being driven and to the control system. Confirm signal compatibility and mechanical interface, and check that the end switches are correctly adjusted for the application.
Signs of failure
Common failures in actuators of this kind include stripped gear trains from overloading, failed end switches that prevent proper stroke stop, and seized valve stems after a period of standstill. Inspect the mating valve or damper for free movement before installation to avoid premature damage.
