Choosing and fitting

Potentiometers used in burner and boiler controls are selected by matching the nominal resistance, resistance taper, mechanical travel angle, shaft type and length, as well as mounting dimensions and termination style. Compare the markings on the failed part or consult the appliance documentation for these parameters. During installation, wire it exactly as the previous part and tighten the mounting nut without over-torquing. If resistance or taper is mismatched, the modulation system will not respond correctly.
