Description
This control box is a burner flame safeguard from Siemens. It manages the burner ignition sequence and enforces safety times, driving the fan, ignition transformer, and fuel valve in response to a heat demand. It also performs a pressure-test check with shut-off valves, preventing startup if unacceptable leakage is detected. If no flame is proved within the safety time, the control box locks out.
Further details
| Application | gas burners and gas appliances with shut-off valves, based on pressure test principle |
|---|---|
| Interchangeability | not normally interchangeable across series even within the same brand |
| Safety Feature | prevents burner start on unacceptable leakage; locks out if flame not proved within safety time |
Choosing and fitting
Control boxes of this type are selected by exact series and type designation, supply voltage, safety and pre-purge times, flame detection method, and base or plug pattern. They mount on a base or plug into a socket; the wiring pattern must be identical to the unit being replaced. Parts are generally not interchangeable across series even within the same brand, so a mismatched safety time is a safety issue. Before ordering, compare all these parameters against the original unit's data sheet.
