Description
The Kromschroder Spring 03089042 is a compression spring made of spring steel, designed for use in gas pressure regulators. It operates within a pressure range of 9–17 mbar and is identified by its yellow marking. This original Kromschroder spring is compatible with the J78R and J78R-1 regulators and is manufactured in Germany. It ensures high adjustment accuracy and allows for quick replacement.
Further details
| Adjustment principle | spring provides the reference force, and its stiffness determines the pressure range |

| Compatibility | Kromschroder j78r, j78r-1 gas pressure regulators |
| Compatibility note | verify fit with the governor in use before ordering |
| Delivery terms | guarantee of originality, fast delivery and professional support |
| Function | sets the outlet pressure by opposing the diaphragm movement |
| Function in system | sets the outlet pressure by opposing the diaphragm movement |
| Installation handling | inspect the spring for deformation or fatigue; ensure the spring guide or seat is clean and undamaged |
| Original Part | original spare part for j78r pressure regulator |
| Overcompression effect | can cause permanent set, shifting the setpoint |
| Purpose | maintaining stable combustion, energy efficiency and safety of gas systems |
| Replacement benefit | prevents pressure fluctuations, ensures optimal equipment operation and significantly extends its service life |
| Selection Criteria | pressure range and colour are the primary selection cues |
| Working Medium | natural gas, lpg, biogas and air |
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement spring of this type, verify that the pressure range, outer diameter, free length, and end type match the regulator's specifications. The spring's color coding helps confirm the correct part. Before installation, inspect the spring for deformation or fatigue, and ensure the spring guide or seat is clean and undamaged. Over-compressing the spring can cause permanent set, shifting the setpoint.
Signs of failure
Springs of this kind may fail due to fatigue, deformation, or over-compression, leading to pressure fluctuations or an inability to maintain the setpoint. Symptoms include unstable outlet pressure, burner modulation issues, or the regulator failing to hold the desired pressure. Check the spring for visible damage, loss of tension, or signs of permanent set.
