Description
The Anstoss Ignition transformer 07000050 is a 50 Hz device that steps up mains voltage to create a spark across an ignition electrode gap. It is energized only during the ignition period under the command of the burner control. This transformer is part of the safety sequence for proper flame ignition.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement ignition transformer of this kind, verify the primary voltage (e.g., 230 V, 110 V, or 24 V) and ensure secondary voltage and current ratings match the ignition electrode and burner design. The duty cycle (intermittent operation) and physical mounting and terminal configuration must be compatible with the existing installation. Check the primary voltage and compare the mounting and terminal layout before ordering.
Signs of failure
Typical failures include no spark at the electrode, often caused by hardened or cracked ignition cables that leak spark to ground, which may appear as a faulty transformer. Before replacing the transformer, inspect the ignition cables for damage. The equipment may fail to ignite or show intermittent ignition issues.
