Description
The ACV A1005374 is an ionisation electrode for gas burners, used to detect the presence of a flame. It is compatible with ACV CA 250 Comfort and HeatMaster 120 boilers. This electrode is resistant to soot and is designed for use in compact condens units. It is identified by SKU A1005374.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement ionisation electrode, key parameters include overall length, shape (bend), ceramic insulator diameter and length, mounting flange type, and the gap between the electrode tip and burner earth. The electrode must match the geometry of the burner head or pilot burner. Inspect the old electrode for physical damage and confirm the new part's ceramic is clean and free of cracks before fitting.
Signs of failure
Typical failure modes include erosion of the metal tip, soot build-up that insulates the electrode, a cracked ceramic insulator causing short circuit to earth, or a drifting gap that weakens or loses the flame signal. When the electrode fails, the burner control may lock out and shut the gas valve if no flame signal is received within the safety time.
