Description
The De Dietrich Electrodes 97955789 (type designation D27) are ionization and ignition electrodes used in De Dietrich boilers. They serve to ignite the fuel-air mixture and to prove the presence of flame by conducting a small rectified current. These electrodes are consumable items that operate directly in the flame zone. They are compatible with De Dietrich boiler models 200/1S, M 201/2 S, and M 202/2 S.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting electrodes of this type, the physical shape—electrode length, bend, insulator diameter, and gap—as well as the mounting flange configuration must match the burner series. Before ordering, verify the gap setting and the condition of the ceramic insulator. The electrode must be compatible with the specific boiler model and its geometry.
Signs of failure
Typical failure modes include an eroded tip, cracked ceramic insulation, soot build-up on the insulator, and a drifting electrode gap that lengthens ignition time. When these occur, the burner may fail to ignite or may have an unstable flame signal. Check the electrode for these signs and replace if necessary.
