Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement pressure switch of this kind, key parameters include the medium (air or gas), switching range and differential, connection type (thread or hose spigot), and electrical contact rating. The switch must match the voltage of the control circuit. Ensure the impulse tube is clean and correctly routed, and verify the setpoint against the original switch's marking or system design parameters.
Signs of failure
Typical failure modes include a torn diaphragm, a blocked impulse tube, or a drifted setpoint. These can cause burner lockouts that may be misdiagnosed as ignition problems. The equipment may shut down automatically when pressure limits are exceeded.
