Description
The Honeywell BB152326 is a replacement valve coil designed for use with VE4032 and VE4040 series gas valves. It operates at 220–240 V and has a power rating of 40 W. This coil is compatible with specific Honeywell valve models including VE4032B1009, VE4032C1008, VE4040B1002, VE4040B1085, and VE4040C1001. The plunger moves freely, ensuring proper mechanical operation when installed.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement coil for a gas valve, ensure that the brand and series of the valve body match to guarantee mechanical fit and electrical connection. Verify the operating voltage and duty cycle, as coils are typically rated for continuous energisation. Check that the valve body is clean and the plunger moves freely before installation. Confirm the electrical connections are tight and correctly polarised if applicable.
Signs of failure
Common failure modes for such coils include open-circuit winding, often caused by overheating or voltage surges, and mechanical jamming of the plunger due to debris or corrosion. When a coil fails, the valve may not open, leading to burner lockout or failure to ignite. A continuity check with a multimeter can confirm whether the coil is intact before replacement.
