Description
Honeywell quartz lens 124204/U is a sensor component used in optical flame detectors for burners and industrial heating. It has a diameter of 40 mm and a focal length of 50 mm. The lens provides focusing accuracy of 0.01 mm and has an ingress protection rating of IP65. It is designed to protect the sensor from heat and contamination while allowing flame radiation to pass through.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement quartz lens for a flame detector, confirm the outer diameter, thickness, and optical transmission range match the existing assembly. The lens must fit the detector model in use; verify the correct fit against the current part. Handle the lens by the edges and clean it with a lint-free cloth approved for optical surfaces before installation.
Signs of failure
Cracks, pitting, or clouding on the lens can attenuate the signal, causing nuisance lockouts or delayed flame detection. Fingerprints or debris on the lens scatter radiation and reduce the detector's response. Inspect the lens for damage and cleanliness if the burner or boiler exhibits flame detection issues.
