Description
The ACV Ignition transformer 53429151, also referenced as ebi 052f0030, is a high-voltage transformer used to generate the spark that ignites the fuel-air mixture in burners. It operates with a supply voltage of 230 V and features silicone-insulated ignition cable. This genuine ACV component is compatible with HeatMaster 60 and HeatMaster 85 boilers, ensuring consistent and safe boiler start-up.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement ignition transformer of this type, verify that the primary voltage matches the burner control output (230 V is common, but 110 V and 24 V versions exist). Check the secondary voltage and current rating, duty cycle (intermittent operation only), mounting pattern, and connector design for the high-voltage cable. Ensure the terminal arrangement and cable connector are compatible with the existing electrode lead.
Signs of failure
Failure of this type of transformer often results in no spark or weak spark, causing the burner to fail to ignite or to shut down during the safety time. A cracked or hardened ignition cable can leak the spark to earth, mimicking a faulty transformer. Check the cable insulation and the transformer's primary voltage and connections.
