Description
Brahma Ignition transformer TC2SVCA 15911150 is an ignition transformer designed for precise control of gas burner valves. It steps mains voltage up to the level required to produce a spark at the ignition electrode gap. The transformer is energized only during the ignition period, on command from the burner control. It features silicone-insulated ignition cables to withstand high voltage and heat.
Choosing and fitting
Parts of this type are selected primarily by secondary voltage and current, primary voltage (230 V is most common, but 110 V and 24 V variants exist), duty cycle, mounting pattern, terminal type, and cable connector pattern. Always verify the primary voltage of the installation before ordering a replacement. The mounting and electrical connections must match the existing transformer; if the connector pattern differs, the cable harness may not fit.
Signs of failure
When items of this kind fail, common symptoms include weak or absent spark, which can be caused by hardened, cracked, or chafed ignition cables leaking the spark to earth. Check the ignition cables, electrode gap, and ceramic insulators before condemning the transformer.
