A valve coil is the electromagnetic actuator that opens or closes the gas valve on a burner or boiler. Mounted directly onto the valve body, it converts an electrical signal from the burner controller into mechanical movement, allowing gas to flow when the ignition sequence calls for it and cutting supply immediately on shutdown or lockout. Without a functioning coil the valve stays closed regardless of demand.

Choosing the right coil comes down to a few critical parameters: supply voltage and frequency (typically 24 V, 110 V or 230 V at 50 or 60 Hz), power consumption in VA or W, connector type and pin configuration, and the coil's physical footprint — diameter, height and the thread or bayonet fitting that mates with the valve body. Coils from Brahma, Danfoss, De Dietrich, Honeywell and Kromschroder are represented here. If you have an order number from the original manufacturer, it can be cross-referenced to a compatible coil in this section.
