Description
The ACV Ionisation cable 537D5001 is a silicone-insulated cable used for flame sensing in ACV burners. It connects the ionisation electrode to the burner control, carrying a small rectified current to prove flame during the start sequence. This cable is compatible with ACV Compact Condens 35, Prestige 50, and Solo Smart 240 models. It is also referenced as 537D5018 and 537D5027.
Choosing and fitting
When selecting a replacement ionisation cable, verify the connector pattern at both ends and the overall length to match the original routing. Ensure the insulation is flexible and free of cracks. The cable path must avoid hot surfaces and sharp edges to prevent damage.
Signs of failure
Over time, the silicone insulation can harden or crack from thermal stress, leading to false lockouts that mimic a faulty control or electrode. A high-resistance connection or a short to earth will prevent the burner from running. Check the cable for insulation damage and secure connections if the burner locks out intermittently.
