Choosing and fitting

When selecting a replacement for this type of transformer, match the secondary voltage and current, duty cycle, and primary voltage (other common primaries are 110 V and 24 V). Also verify that the mounting arrangement, terminal style, and high-tension cable connector correspond to the existing installation. Before installing a new unit, inspect the ignition cable; a cracked or hardened cable can leak the spark to earth and appear as a transformer problem.
