Description
The Fida 26/48 ITAQ ignition transformer (SKU EPTBC31) is a component for burner ignition systems. It supplies high voltage to the ignition electrode to create a spark for igniting the fuel-air mixture. This model operates during the ignition phase under burner control, stepping up the mains voltage to ionize the air gap. It is designed for use in compatible burner equipment, with selection based on electrical and mechanical specifications.
Choosing and fitting
Parts of this type are selected by secondary voltage and current, primary voltage (typically 230 V, with 110 V and 24 V variants), duty cycle, mounting style, and terminal configuration. Before ordering, compare these specifications with the original transformer. Check the ignition cable condition first, as a hardened or cracked cable can cause a no-flame condition. Ensure the transformer's electrical ratings match the original.
Signs of failure
Failure modes include cracked or hardened ignition cables leaking spark to earth, causing no-flame conditions. The transformer may fail to produce a spark, leading to start-up failures. Check the cable and confirm the transformer's electrical ratings before replacement.
