Choosing and fitting

When selecting a replacement oil nozzle, ensure the capacity (in GPH), spray angle, and spray pattern type match the original specifications. The nozzle must be compatible with the burner's pressure range and fuel type. Installation involves removing the old nozzle, cleaning the mounting threads, and torquing the new nozzle to the manufacturer's recommended specification.

Signs of failure

Common failure modes include clogging due to debris or carbon buildup, which can cause uneven flame, soot formation, or reduced heating efficiency. A worn or damaged nozzle may lead to poor atomization, resulting in incomplete combustion and increased fuel consumption. Regular inspection and cleaning of the nozzle and its filter can prevent these issues.
