Choose a nozzle by its marks

Nozzles of different brands interchange when the marks match: Flow rate, Spray angle, Spray pattern. Set them as on the old nozzle — below are the ones that fit, with price and stock.

Description

The Delavan 05000-45B0 is an oil nozzle with a capacity of 50 gallons per hour and a spray angle of 45 degrees. It features a B spray pattern and is designed for use with fuel oil. This precision consumable atomizes fuel oil into a fine spray for complete combustion within the burner's combustion head. The nozzle is mounted on the oil line downstream of the pump and solenoid valve, directing the spray into the flame tube. Its manufacturer code is 05000-45B0, and it is also referenced as 345.892.244.

Choosing and fitting

When selecting a replacement oil nozzle of this type, the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern must match the values specified on the burner's data plate. The thread size is critical; most oil nozzles use a standard 1/8″ or 1/4″ BSP thread, but compatibility with the burner's nozzle adapter must be confirmed. Always replace with a nozzle of identical rating, angle, and pattern—do not substitute based on flow rate alone.

Signs of failure

Oil nozzles of this kind can fail due to wear, leading to improper atomization. Symptoms include sooting, pulsation, or unstable ignition. If the nozzle is clogged or damaged, the burner may produce a smoky flame or fail to ignite consistently. Regular inspection and replacement are necessary to maintain proper combustion.
