Description
The Delavan 24.00GPH / 80BPS is an oil nozzle for oil-fired burners and boilers. It delivers a flow rate of 24 GPH through an 80 ° spray angle in a BPS spray pattern. The nozzle atomises fuel oil so it can be mixed with combustion air and burned in the burner's combustion chamber. Its flow rate, angle and pattern determine the shape and reach of the oil spray inside the appliance.

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification for the appliance. The mounting form must also match: the nozzle body, thread and seat must correspond to the nozzle holder or adapter on the burner. Before ordering, compare the markings on the existing nozzle and the burner's rating plate with the required figures. Installation requires the correct wrench size and seating torque, with the nozzle kept clean and free of damage to the orifice and filter.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind commonly fail through a blocked or worn orifice, a clogged internal filter, or a damaged seat, which changes the flow rate and spray pattern. The equipment may then show poor ignition, unstable flame, smoke, soot deposits, or a flame that is too long or too short. Checks include the nozzle markings, the spray pattern on a test sheet, the condition of the filter and seat, and the pump pressure at the nozzle.
