Description

This is a Delavan oil nozzle with a flow rate of 0.75 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle, and an A spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil in a burner, producing a spray that mixes with combustion air. The 0.75 GPH rating defines the volume of oil delivered per hour at the nozzle's rated pressure. The 45 ° angle sets the width of the spray cone, and the A pattern denotes the spray shape. The item is identified by SKU P0075-45A1.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by confirming the thread and mounting form fit the nozzle adapter. The flow rate must correspond to the burner's firing rate at the rated pump pressure, while the spray angle and pattern must suit the combustion chamber geometry and air flow. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and physical dimensions with the replacement. Installation requires the correct seating in the adapter and the specified tightening torque to avoid leakage or damage.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail through clogging of the internal passages or orifice, wear of the orifice enlarging the flow rate, or damage to the filter screen. When this happens, the burner may show a weak, distorted, or asymmetrical flame, delayed ignition, pulsation, soot deposits, or a failure to fire at all. Check the nozzle screen and orifice for debris, compare the measured flow rate against the rated value, and inspect the spray pattern for evenness before deciding to replace it.
