Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 12.00GPH / 45PLP is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 12 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle, and a PLP spray pattern. It is used to atomize fuel oil into a spray for combustion in oil-fired burners and boilers. The 45 ° angle defines the width of the spray cone, while the PLP pattern describes the distribution of fuel within that cone.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form and thread must match the nozzle adapter or burner assembly before ordering. The spray angle and pattern must be compared against the original nozzle or the appliance data plate, as an incorrect angle or pattern changes the flame shape.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, delayed ignition, rough or pulsating combustion, or a failure to fire. Check the nozzle for blockage or wear, and verify the electrode settings and fuel pressure before replacing it.
