Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 8.00GPH / 45PLP is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 8 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle and a PLP spray pattern. It atomises fuel oil into a spray that the burner ignites in the combustion chamber. The 45 ° angle sets how wide the spray spreads from the nozzle orifice, and the PLP pattern defines the shape of that spray. It is listed under the category Oil nozzle with the SKU 8.00GPH / 45PLP.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner and combustion chamber they serve. The mounting form and thread of the nozzle body must match the nozzle adapter or holder on the burner, so the old part is compared with the replacement before ordering. The spray angle must suit the chamber geometry, and the pattern must suit the air flow of the burner.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging or by wear of the orifice, which changes the flow rate and the spray shape. The equipment then shows a poor or unstable flame, delayed ignition, sooting, or a rise in flue gas readings. Checks are made for blockage at the nozzle, for the spray pattern on a test sheet, and for the flow rate against the rated value.
