Description

This is a Monarch oil nozzle with a flow rate of 40 GPH, a spray angle of 80 degrees, and a PLP spray pattern. It is used in oil-fired burners and boilers to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray for combustion. The 80-degree spray angle defines the cone width of the oil mist leaving the nozzle. The PLP spray pattern describes the distribution of that mist. The SKU for this item is 40.00GPH / 80PLP.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form and thread must match the nozzle adapter or nozzle line in the burner. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and its physical dimensions against the replacement.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may produce a poor flame, smoke, soot, or fail to ignite reliably. Check the nozzle for blockage, wear, and spray shape, and verify the pump pressure and filtration before replacing it.
