Description
The Monarch Oil nozzle 28.00GPH / 45HO is an oil nozzle with a flow rate of 28 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle, and an HO spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil into a spray for combustion in oil-fired burners and boilers. The 45 ° angle defines the cone width of the spray, while the HO pattern designates the distribution of fuel within that cone. The 28 GPH rating states the volume of oil the nozzle passes per hour at its rated pressure.

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by confirming the thread and body dimensions fit the nozzle adapter. Mounting forms vary by burner design, so the seat, thread size, and overall length must be compared with the part being replaced before ordering. The nozzle is installed in the burner's nozzle adapter, with the correct tightening torque and without damaging the orifice or filter screen.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind commonly fail through orifice wear, clogging, or a damaged filter screen, which changes the spray pattern and flow rate. On the equipment this appears as poor combustion, smoke, soot deposits, unstable flame, or difficulty maintaining the set firing rate. Checks include the nozzle screen and orifice for debris, the spray pattern for distortion, and the pump pressure, since incorrect pressure also alters the delivered flow.
