Description
The Monarch Oil nozzle 70.00GPH / 80PLP is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 70 GPH, a spray angle of 80 °, and a PLP spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil into a spray for combustion in oil-fired burners and boilers. The 80 ° angle defines the cone width of the spray, while the PLP pattern defines the spray shape delivered by the nozzle.

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification, and by matching the thread and body form to the nozzle adapter. Mounting forms differ between nozzle families, so the seat, thread, and overall length must be compared with the old part before ordering. The fitter should read the marking on the existing nozzle and confirm it against the burner data plate.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern, which shows as rough starting, pulsating flame, smoke, soot deposits, or a rise in flue gas temperature. A worn nozzle can also cause incomplete combustion and higher fuel consumption. When these signs appear, the nozzle should be removed and the spray pattern, the strainer, and the electrode settings checked.
