Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 8.50GPH / 45PLP is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 8.5 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle, and a PLP spray pattern. It atomises fuel oil into a spray for combustion in an oil-fired burner or boiler. The 45 ° angle defines the cone width of the spray, and the PLP pattern defines the shape of the spray distribution.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification, and by matching the thread and body dimensions to the nozzle adapter. Mounting forms differ by thread size and body length, so the existing nozzle must be compared before ordering. The nozzle seat and adapter must be clean and undamaged, and the nozzle must be tightened to the torque specified for the burner.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this type commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern. The equipment may then show a weak or uneven flame, smoke, soot deposits, delayed ignition, or a rise in fuel consumption. Check the nozzle strainer, the spray pattern, and the electrode and adapter condition before replacing the nozzle.
