Description
The Monarch Oil nozzle 16.00GPH / 45PLP is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 16 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle, and a PLP spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil into a spray for combustion in an oil-fired burner or boiler. The 45 ° angle defines the cone of the spray, and the PLP pattern defines the shape of the spray as it leaves the nozzle.

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by matching the thread and body dimensions to the nozzle adapter. Mounting forms vary by burner make and adapter, so the seat, thread, and overall length must be compared with the part being replaced before ordering. The nozzle is fitted into the adapter with the correct seating and tightened to the torque specified for the burner.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may show a poor flame shape, delayed ignition, pulsation, soot build-up, or a rise in flue gas temperature. Checking the spray pattern, flow rate, and the nozzle strainer, and comparing them with the burner settings, is the usual first step.
