Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 19.50GPH / 45HO is an oil burner nozzle with a rated flow rate of 19.5 GPH. It produces a 45 ° spray angle in the HO spray pattern. The HO pattern is a hollow cone, which concentrates the oil spray toward the outer edge of the cone. This nozzle is used to atomise fuel oil and deliver it in a defined spray shape for combustion in an oil burner.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form must also match: the nozzle seat, thread and the length and shape of the nozzle body have to correspond to the nozzle adapter or burner head. Before ordering, compare the marking on the old nozzle with the required values and check the seat and thread in the burner.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging of the internal passages or the orifice, by wear of the orifice that increases flow, or by a distorted spray pattern. The equipment may then show a poor flame shape, delayed ignition, pulsation, sooting or a rise in flue gas readings. Check the spray pattern, the flow rate and the condition of the nozzle seat and filter before replacing the nozzle.
