Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 17.50GPH / 45HO is an oil nozzle with a flow rate of 17.5 GPH, a 45° spray angle, and an HO spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil in a burner, forming the spray that is mixed with air and ignited. The 45° angle defines the cone of the spray, and the HO pattern defines how the fuel is distributed within that cone. Its SKU is 17.50GPH / 45HO.

Choosing and fitting

Oil nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by matching the mounting thread and body dimensions to the nozzle adapter. Mounting forms differ in thread size and in the length and shape of the body, so the old nozzle should be compared with the replacement before ordering. The flow rate, angle, and pattern markings on the nozzle must correspond to the burner settings.

Signs of failure

Oil nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may show a weak or uneven flame, delayed ignition, sooting, or a rise in flue gas temperature. The nozzle should be checked for blockage and spray shape, and the fuel pressure and filtration examined before replacement.
