Description

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification for the appliance. The mounting form must match the burner's nozzle adapter, and the nozzle body length and thread must seat correctly in that adapter. Before ordering, compare the markings on the existing nozzle with the required specification and check the adapter for damage or leakage.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind commonly fail through clogging of the internal passages or the orifice, wear of the orifice, or leakage at the seat. The equipment may then show a weak or uneven flame, delayed ignition, sooting, odour, or a rise in fuel consumption. Check the nozzle for blockage or wear, verify the pump pressure and fuel filtration, and replace the nozzle when the spray pattern or flow is out of specification.
