Description

This is an oil nozzle with a flow rate of 7.5 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle, and a PLP spray pattern. It is used in oil burners to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray for combustion. The flow rate determines the volume of oil delivered per hour at the rated pressure. The spray angle and pattern define the shape and spread of the oil mist inside the combustion chamber.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting thread and nozzle body dimensions must also match the nozzle adapter or burner gun. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and physical size with the replacement. Installation requires correct seating and tightening to the specified torque to avoid leaks or poor atomisation.

Signs of failure

A nozzle of this kind can become clogged, worn, or distorted at the orifice, leading to poor atomisation, delayed ignition, or a smoky flame. The burner may show unstable combustion, soot deposits, or increased fuel consumption. Checking involves inspecting the nozzle for debris or damage and verifying the spray pattern and flow rate against the burner specification.
