Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 9.00GPH / 45PLP is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 9 GPH, a 45 ° spray angle, and a PLP spray pattern. It is used to atomise fuel oil into a spray for combustion in oil-fired burners and boilers. The 45 ° angle defines the width of the spray cone, while the PLP pattern describes the distribution of fuel within that cone.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form must also match: the nozzle body, thread, and seat must fit the nozzle adapter or burner head without modification. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and dimensions with the replacement, and check that the spray pattern suits the combustion chamber shape.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, delayed ignition, pulsating combustion, or a noticeable drop in heat output. Inspect the nozzle for blockage or damage and compare the spray pattern against the specification during routine servicing.
