Description

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form and thread must also match the nozzle adapter or burner head, and the nozzle seat must be clean and undamaged before installation. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and physical dimensions with the replacement. Tighten the nozzle to the torque specified by the burner manufacturer, avoiding damage to the seat.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a damaged seat, which can cause poor atomisation, a smoky or unstable flame, or failure to ignite. A worn nozzle may increase fuel flow and produce soot or odours. When these symptoms appear, check the nozzle for blockage or wear and verify the electrode settings and fuel pressure before replacing it.
