Description
The Monarch Oil nozzle 9.00GPH / 60BPS is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 9 GPH, a 60 ° spray angle and a BPS spray pattern. It atomises fuel oil into a spray for combustion in an oil-fired burner or boiler. The 60 ° angle sets the width of the spray cone, and the BPS pattern defines the shape of the spray as it leaves the orifice.

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification, and by matching the thread and body form to the nozzle adapter. Mounting forms differ between brands and burner series, so the seat, thread and overall length must be compared with the part being replaced before ordering. The nozzle is fitted into the nozzle adapter or holder, tightened to the torque given by the burner maker, and the electrode gap and position are set afterwards.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern, which shows as a smoky flame, poor ignition, pulsation or a drop in heat output. A worn or blocked nozzle can also cause soot deposits on the boiler and erratic combustion readings. When these signs appear, the nozzle, the oil filter and the pump pressure are checked, and the spray pattern is inspected before replacement.
