Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 7.50GPH / 60BPS is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 7.5 GPH, a 60 ° spray angle, and a BPS spray pattern. It atomises fuel oil into a spray for combustion in an oil-fired burner. The 60 ° angle defines the spread of the spray, and the BPS pattern defines its shape. The 7.5 GPH rating states the volume of oil the nozzle passes per hour at its rated pressure.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form and thread must match the nozzle adapter or holder on the burner, and the rated pressure of the nozzle must agree with the pump setting. Before ordering, compare the markings on the old nozzle with the required flow rate, angle, and pattern, and check the seat and thread for damage.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern. The equipment may then show a smoky flame, poor ignition, pulsation, or a rise in fuel consumption. Check the spray pattern and flow rate, inspect the nozzle for dirt or damage, and replace it when the pattern is uneven or the flow no longer matches the rating.
