Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 30.00GPH / 80PLP is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 30 GPH, a spray angle of 80 °, and a PLP spray pattern. It meters and atomises fuel oil into a spray that the burner ignites. The 80 ° angle sets how wide the spray cone opens from the nozzle orifice. The PLP pattern defines the distribution of fuel within that cone. It is identified by the SKU 30.00GPH / 80PLP.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification for the appliance. The mounting form must also match: the nozzle body, thread, and seating face have to suit the nozzle adapter or burner head it screws into. Before ordering, compare the markings on the old nozzle with the required flow rate, angle, and pattern, and check that the replacement seats correctly without cross-threading.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging or by wear of the orifice, which changes the flow rate and spray shape. The equipment may then show a weak, smoky, or unstable flame, delayed ignition, or soot deposits on the boiler surfaces. Check the nozzle for blockage or damage and compare the flame condition against the burner's normal setting before replacing it.
