Description

The Monarch Oil nozzle 2.00GPH / 80R is an oil burner nozzle with a flow rate of 2 GPH, a spray angle of 80°, and an R spray pattern. It meters and atomizes fuel oil for combustion in an oil-fired burner. The 80° angle sets the width of the spray cone, and the R pattern defines the shape of the spray. It is identified by the SKU 2.00GPH / 80R.

Choosing and fitting

Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner's requirements, and by confirming the thread and body dimensions fit the nozzle adapter. Mounting forms differ between nozzle families, so the seat, thread size, and overall length must be compared with the old part before ordering. The flow rate, angle, and pattern markings on the replacement must match the specification for the appliance.

Signs of failure

Nozzles of this kind commonly fail by clogging, wear of the orifice, or a distorted spray pattern, which shows as rough starting, pulsating or smoky combustion, and a visible flame that is long, lazy, or uneven. Soot buildup on the heat exchanger and a rise in flue gas temperature can follow. Check the nozzle for blockage or wear, verify the spray pattern and angle, and confirm the electrode settings and pump pressure before replacing it.
