Description
This is a Danfoss oil nozzle with a flow rate of 0.85 GPH, a 45° spray angle, and a B spray pattern. It is used in oil burners to atomise fuel oil into a fine spray for combustion. The 45° angle defines the shape of the spray cone, while the B pattern describes the distribution of fuel within that cone. The 0.85 GPH rating specifies the volume of oil the nozzle passes per hour at the rated pressure. It is identified by the SKU 030B0056.

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form must also match: the nozzle seat, thread, and overall length must correspond to the nozzle holder on the burner. Before ordering, compare the markings on the existing nozzle with the required specification and check the burner documentation for the correct combination. The spray pattern letter and angle must suit the combustion chamber geometry and the burner's air flow.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, fail to ignite reliably, or show a pulsating or uneven fire. A worn nozzle can also increase fuel consumption or cause carbon build-up on the electrodes and combustion head. Check the nozzle by inspecting the spray pattern and orifice, and replace it if the spray is asymmetric or the flow rate has drifted from specification.
