Description

Choosing and fitting
Nozzles of this type are selected by matching the flow rate, spray angle, and spray pattern to the burner manufacturer's specification. The mounting form must also match: the nozzle body, thread, and sealing face must fit the burner's nozzle adapter. Before ordering, compare the existing nozzle's markings and dimensions with the replacement, and verify the pump pressure at which the flow rate is rated. If the adapter or seat is damaged, it must be replaced as well.
Signs of failure
Nozzles of this kind can clog, wear at the orifice, or develop a distorted spray pattern over time. When this happens, the burner may produce a smoky flame, fail to ignite, pulsate, or show a drop in heat output. Check for carbon deposits on the nozzle face, a worn or enlarged orifice, and a spray pattern that is asymmetric or dripping rather than finely atomised.
